Lucy clowns it up as Buffo the Clown.

Fred and Ethel can't agree on where to go for their 18th wedding anniversary celebration. Fred and Ricky want to go to the fights, but Ethel and Lucy want to go to the Copacabana. They finally decide to do different things and bring dates. They all have problems getting dates, but when Lucy and Ethel find out that Ricky and Fred called a date service, Lucy has the operator set her and Ethel up as Ricky and Fred's dates.

Lucy tries to be Ricky’s pal to improve their marriage.

Lucy starves herself in order to lose 22 pounds so that she can fit in a dress and be in Ricky’s show.

Lucy gets so obsessed with a murder mystery book that it carries her mind away into thinking that Ricky is trying to kill her.

Lucy will win a radio show prize if she can manage to convince Ricky that she was once married to a radio station hired actor. However, when a bum comes to her door, Lucy thinks it's the actor, and causes a heap of confusion for everyone.

After suddenly becoming interested in superstitions, Lucy reads Ricky’s horoscope and it says that today is not a good day for Ricky to make business deals. So when a call comes through with a very good job offer for Ricky, Lucy tells them no, leading Lucy to have a seance to set things right.

Lucy decides to teach Ricky a lesson about his being messy when his press agent lines up a spread in Halfbeat Magazine by trashing the house. Little does Lucy know though that the reporter Ricky brings home to do the spread is actually from Look Magazine causing big trouble.

Lucy has to babysit two spoiled rambunctious twins to make money to pay for a dress that she spent too much money on. She doesn't realize though what she's getting herself into, but at the last moment before Lucy goes insane, the twins' mother calls and tells Lucy that if she'll perform in a talent show with the twins, she'll let Lucy keep the $100 prize money.

When Lucy learns of two openings in Ricky’s show, one for a ballet dancer, and one for a burlesque comic, Lucy decides to take ballet lessons because she has some past experience in it. But once that goes horribly wrong, she then decides to hire someone to help her learn the art of burlesque comedy. Then Lucy learns that Ricky now has only one opening left in the show, and falsely assuming that it’s the burlesque comic, she goes down to the club with disastrous results.

Lucy doesn’t like Ricky’s mustache and wants him to shave it off. But Ricky refuses, so Lucy decides to show him what it’s like by gluing a fake beard on her face. Ricky eventually gives in and agrees to shave it, but only on the condition that Lucy gets rid of hers. But when Lucy tries to take it off, she finds out that the glue she attached it with’s remover is not being made anymore.

Lucy accidentally gets locked in a freezer that her and Ethel paid $483 for while trying to hide a ton of meat they purchased from Ricky and Fred.
